Bloom Where You Are Planted!

Aloha, I’m Dee Russell. I live on the island of Maui, Hawaii and am a transplant from the State of Indiana. The writings you find on this blog are a accumulation of experiences as an educator in the public schools, community volunteer, wife, mother and nature lover, among other things at various times in my life.
At this time particular time you will find me as administrator of Kahana Fine Arts Studio where creation happens in the school atmosphere as Maui keiki are taught piano, voice,violin or guitar and art instruction. We also proudly exhibit in our gallery some of the finest work of our students plus other talented artist on the island. Writing has always been a passion with me and I joyously share my thoughts with you. Please feel free to add your thoughts as well.

Do you believe that flowers speak?

You may smile a bit at the thought and reply, “Yes, flowers sometimes nod in the breeze, but speak? Well hardly.”
BUT WAIT!
My experiences teach me that sometimes flowers have magical messages. They have driven a point home when I just couldn’t seem to get it.
My flower garden is one of my favorite places to be.There as I work planting, weeding and caring tenderly for each plant, I experience the majestic orchestration of nature demonstrated through birth, growth, climax and even the bittersweet taste of death, but always a hope of resurrection. Reflections in the quiet environs of nature provides a secret to replenishing the spirit for the duties of the day.
So come with me for I have stories to tell.
