A woman who was older in years had trouble getting around in the Country Market in the small town of Covington, Indiana. A young girl who couldn’t have been any older than five, came up and asked what she used that “stick” for. The lady replied that her cane helped her walk. The little girl seemed appeased with her answer and went on her way.
When the older lady got out to the parking lot, the little girl met her at her car and loaded the groceries into the car for her.. The little girl then held the ladies hands and told her she would pray for her and if the lady would come to church with her, they would all pray for her.
We live in a world that is crazy busy. I wonder how many adults walked past this woman without a second thought about helping her load her groceries. Surely this little girl had been brought up in a home that encouraged consideration for others and those examples were obvious. We are instructed to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a crooked and perverse generation of whom we shine as lights to the world. Philippians 2:15. The little ones sometimes have much to teach us.
